Constructing a 1.2 km cable-stayed bridge over the Dong Nai River, shortening travel by 26 km

A nearly 1.2 km cable-stayed bridge is set to be built on the Gia Nghia - Bao Lam route, reducing the travel distance between the two areas from 41 km to 15 km.

On 30/8, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee announced the approval of the Gia Nghia - Bao Lam arterial road project. The project has a total capital of 2,850 billion VND, funded by both central and provincial budgets.

The bridge spanning the Dong Nai River is the project's largest component, extending nearly 1.2 km. Its main span measures 350 m, featuring a single-plane cable-stayed structure with four lanes for vehicles and two lanes for motorbikes and rudimentary vehicles.

The structure is expected to create an architectural landmark while connecting the two banks of the Dong Nai River.

According to the overall plan, the arterial road will be nearly 9 km long, passing through Dong Gia Nghia ward and Bao Lam 5 commune. Its starting point will intersect with the Dao Nghia - Quang Khe road, and its end point will connect to the Dong Nai 4 hydropower area, which is part of national highway 55's master plan.

The route is designed according to class 3 plain road standards, featuring four lanes and a design speed of 80 km/h.

Currently, travel between Gia Nghia and Bao Lam primarily uses national highway 28, a 41 km route prone to landslides. The new route will shorten the distance to 15 km, providing more convenient connectivity and fostering the region's socio-economic development.
