Around 12:00 PM on 27/8, a man, about 60 years old, was driving a motorbike with his wife on Le Van Khuong Street, formerly District 12. As they reached the Nguyen Thi Kieu intersection, their motorbike collided with a truck traveling in the same direction.
The couple fell onto the road and the truck ran over them, killing them. The motorbike was dragged under the truck for nearly ten meters. It was lightly raining when the accident occurred.

At the scene, the damaged motorbike lay beneath the front of the truck, with the victims' belongings and helmets scattered on the road. Van Hai, a resident living near the scene, recounted that the motorbike turned left at the T-junction while the truck continued straight.
"The motorbike might have been in a blind spot, leading to the accident," Van Hai said.
The two victims, originally from Ba Ria - Vung Tau, had moved to Ho Chi Minh City for rented accommodation and worked freelance jobs.

The accident caused traffic congestion on Le Van Khuong Street and the area around Tan Thoi Hiep overpass for over one hour. By 1:30 PM, authorities transported the bodies of the two victims to the morgue for investigation.
