Businesses in Dong Nai are appealing to authorities regarding a new truck ban on Dong Khoi Street, a crucial artery connecting industrial zones. The Dong Nai Import-Export Association submitted a petition to the Dong Nai City People's Committee on 26/8, urging a review of the ban's scope, which took effect on 25/8. The association argues that the restrictions will significantly disrupt supply chains, impact production and import-export schedules, and lead to increased logistics expenses.

Dong Khoi Street, approximately 8 km long, links Quoc lo 1 with DT 768. It serves as a vital connection for numerous industrial parks, industrial clusters, and major businesses in areas such as Tan Trieu and Trang Dai wards, facilitating the transport of goods to ports. Under the new regulations, trucks over 5 tons are prohibited from 5 AM to 10 PM. Additionally, existing bans for trucks over 2 tons from 6 AM to 8:30 AM and 11 AM to 1:30 PM remain, while the afternoon restriction has been extended from 4 PM - 6:30 PM to 4 PM - 9 PM.

The extensive ban creates significant challenges, especially for businesses with factories and warehouses directly located on Dong Khoi Street, as they report having almost no alternative routes to access their facilities. The Dong Nai Import-Export Association warns that this approach could not only affect delivery schedules and damage credibility with clients and partners but also lead to severe traffic congestion during the limited hours when trucks are permitted to operate. Prior to this, 12 businesses operating along Dong Khoi Street had already submitted a petition, emphasizing the direct impact on production, goods transportation, and existing or prospective economic contracts, including those for national key projects.

The Construction Department stated that the traffic adjustments aim to enhance safety and reduce congestion on this central urban route through Bien Hoa. In response to the businesses' concerns, the Dong Nai City People's Committee has instructed the City Police to lead a coordinated review with the Construction Department. They are tasked with examining the issues raised and reporting their findings to the City People's Committee Chairman.
