Couple trapped in cabin after accident

A truck driver and his wife were trapped in their cabin after colliding with a passenger bus on provincial road 1, rescued by locals and taken to emergency services on the morning of 22/12.

Around 5 AM on 22/12, Hoang Ngoc Son (35, residing in Buon Don commune) was driving a sleeper bus with 10 passengers from Ea Sup to Buon Don. Upon reaching Ea Wer commune, the bus collided with a refrigerated truck driven by Nguyen Minh Nhat (51, residing in Tan Lap ward).

The powerful impact crushed the front of the truck, causing it to overturn. Nguyen Minh Nhat and his wife, Pham Thi Cuc (51), sustained serious injuries and were trapped inside the cabin.

Locals used tools to pry open the cabin for over 30 minutes, successfully freeing the two victims. They were then taken to the commune health station for first aid before being transferred to Tay Nguyen Regional General Hospital.

The driver and passengers on the sleeper bus were panicked but sustained no physical injuries. The section of provincial road 1 where the accident occurred is currently under construction and marked with speed limit signs.

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
