Nguyen Hong Dien, the current minister of industry and trade, has been appointed as a standing committee member and full-time deputy secretary of the National Assembly's Party Committee, a decision announced by the Politburo. The National Assembly's Party Committee held a ceremony on the afternoon of 21/12 to officially announce this personnel decision regarding Mr. Dien.

Born in 1965, Nguyen Hong Dien hails from the former Thai Binh province, now part of Hung Yen province. Throughout his career, he has held several key positions, including chairman of the Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee, secretary of the Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee, and deputy head of the Central Propaganda Department.
In 4/2021, the National Assembly approved his appointment as minister of industry and trade.
Mr. Dien is a member of the 12th and 13th Party Central Committees and served as a delegate to the 14th and 15th National Assembly. His academic background includes a PhD in Public Administration Management, a Bachelor's in History - Education, and a Bachelor's in Economics.
