Garage fire destroys two passenger cars

An automobile repair and maintenance workshop spanning over 500 square meters in Hoi Phu ward, former Pleiku City, unexpectedly caught fire, destroying two passenger cars on the afternoon of 22/12.

The fire started around 2:10 PM in the automobile repair area at the intersection of Nguyen Ba Ngoc and Nguyen Chi Thanh streets. Combustible materials inside the workshop fueled the flames, which spread quickly, creating a smoke plume dozens of meters high. Employees tried to put out the fire with small extinguishers but failed, evacuating in a panic.

About 20 minutes after the blaze erupted, Hoi Phu Ward Police and dozens of officers from the Provincial Police Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Department responded. One team tackled the flames from the main entrance, while another used hoses to protect nearby residential areas from the spreading fire.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze after one hour. The incident caused no casualties but damaged 4 automobiles, including two passenger cars completely destroyed. The garage and its contents sustained damage, and the warehouse roof structure was compromised, raising concerns about its stability.
