Authorities from Dak O commune apprehended the crocodile in the stream on the afternoon of 17/8. The animal was then handed over to the forest rangers of Bu Gia Map National Park for rescue and appropriate handling.

Previously, on 25/7, residents working in their fields near the Cay Xanh bridge stream spotted an animal suspected to be a crocodile surfacing. They took photos and reported it to the authorities.

Dak O commune authorities promptly warned residents against swimming or fishing near the discovery site and deployed forces to capture the animal. However, the stream's length and dense vegetation provided ample hiding spots for the crocodile, making the search challenging.

Authorities are currently investigating the crocodile's origin.
