Da Nang party chief appointed standing deputy inspector general

Nguyen Van Quang, Da Nang party secretary, has been appointed standing deputy inspector general of the Government Inspectorate on 3/9.

Quang, 56, is from Hai Phong and holds a doctorate in law. He is a member of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party and a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

He has served in numerous significant roles within the inspectorate, including chief procurator of Hai Phong City People's Procuracy, chief procurator of the Procuracy for exercising the right of public prosecution and supervising appellate trials in Ho Chi Minh City, chief procurator of the High-Level People's Procuracy in Ho Chi Minh City, and deputy chief procurator and party secretary of the Supreme People's Procuracy from 2015 to 2020.

In late 2019, the Party Secretariat appointed him standing deputy secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee. Nearly a year later, he was elected secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee. Following the merger of Da Nang and Quang Nam into a centrally-administered city, the Politburo appointed him as the party secretary, a position he held until this recent appointment.

The Government Inspectorate is a ministerial-level agency responsible for inspection, citizen reception, complaint and denunciation resolution, and anti-corruption efforts nationwide. It is currently led by Inspector General Doan Hong Phong, with deputy inspectors general including Nguyen Van Quang (Standing), Le Si Bay, Duong Quoc Huy, Nguyen Van Cuong, and Le Tien Dat.
