Around 7 p.m., flames raged from the second floor of the 50+ square meter building. Residents heard an explosion and, upon discovering the fire, shouted for help and attempted to extinguish the flames, but were unsuccessful. The building was unoccupied at the time.
Khanh Hoa Province's Police Department of Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue dispatched 5 fire trucks and dozens of officers to the scene.
The presence of numerous flammable materials inside the building hampered efforts to control the fire. Firefighters had to divide into multiple teams to attack the fire from various angles. They also used a ladder truck to access the upper floors and prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings.
