Around 6:40 p.m., a fire erupted at the umbrella factory on Ngo Gia Tu Street, located opposite the Diem Go Cau Duong residential area. Because the factory contained many flammable materials, the fire quickly spread throughout the entire building, creating a column of smoke and flames that rose tens of meters high, clearly visible from across the Red River looking towards Cau Duong Bridge.
Residents living next to the factory rushed to move their valuables outside and called the fire department. Authorities also proactively cut off the power to the Diem Go residential area as a precautionary measure.

At least 5 fire trucks and dozens of firefighters were dispatched to the scene. By then, the fire had intensified significantly. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze while preventing it from spreading to nearby houses. The fire was extinguished by 8:00 p.m.
The burned factory was built with an iron frame, enclosed and roofed with corrugated iron. In addition to the production area, there was a showroom for umbrellas, almost all of which were destroyed. There were no casualties.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
