Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway to begin construction in August

The Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway project, spanning over 60 km through Dong Nai province, is scheduled to commence construction on 19/8. The project carries a total investment of nearly 8,500 billion VND under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model.

This information is outlined in the project commencement plan submitted by the Vietnam Road Administration to the Ministry of Construction. After collaborating with the investor for a review, the Administration has determined that the 500-meter Dau Giay intersection area is ready for early commencement. This is due to the completion of site clearance and related procedures.

Dong Nai province is currently selecting a consulting firm to conduct an inventory and develop a compensation and clearance plan for the remaining sections of the project. Site clearance is expected to be completed between October and December 2025. Meanwhile, the project developer is expediting legal procedures and selecting contractors to carry out construction along the entire route following the commencement of the initial section.

The Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway is one segment of the larger Dau Giay - Lien Khuong expressway, stretching over 200 km and connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the Central Highlands. The route begins at the intersection with the Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway and ends at the connection with the Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway. The first phase of construction will establish 4 lanes with a roadbed width of 17 m.

The total investment for the project is nearly 8,500 billion VND. The state budget will contribute approximately 1,300 billion VND for site clearance, with the remaining funds mobilized by the investor.

Upon completion, the Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway will enhance connectivity from Ho Chi Minh City to the Central Highlands, reducing travel time. It will also contribute to economic, social, and tourism development for Dong Nai province and neighboring areas.
