On 23/4, the Hai Chau Ward People's Committee announced that Da Nang City Police are handling an incident that occurred at the construction site at 25 Tran Quy Cap, located in the city center. At approximately 3:30 PM on 19/4, during the demolition of the northern block of the structure, the building unexpectedly collapsed sideways. This caused the complete destruction of house number 27, a level 4 house with a mezzanine that operated as a bakery. The bakery owners heard a loud noise and felt the walls shaking, allowing them to escape just in time.
The incident resulted in the complete collapse of the bakery's entire area, approximately 50m2. The laundry shop at number 29 suffered a partial collapse at the rear, with property trapped inside. Additionally, houses from number 29 to 33 exhibited cracked walls and structural damage. Fortunately, no human casualties were reported in the incident.

The investor for the project is Vinatex Da Nang Joint Stock Company, with Dai Nguyen Nam Trading and Service Company Limited serving as the contractor. The Hai Chau Ward People's Committee clarified that while demolition activities do not require a permit, the investor is still responsible for ensuring safety and environmental protection throughout the process.
Authorities have sealed off the site and suspended construction work. The ward People's Committee is currently finalizing administrative violation penalties against the investor for causing the collapse of adjacent structures, in accordance with Government Decree 16/2022.
Hai Chau Ward authorities will chair a meeting for all involved parties to agree on compensation after the damage assessment results are available. If an agreement cannot be reached, the case will be directed to the court for resolution.
