On 14/8, the Traffic Police Department (Quang Tri Provincial Police Department) reported that Traffic Police Team Number 2 issued fines totaling 333 million VND to the driver and owner of an overloaded vehicle.
At 7:20 PM on 13/8, on the Dong Hoi bypass, authorities stopped a tractor-trailer with a Tuyen Quang license plate for inspection. The vehicle was found to be overloaded by more than 429%, and its axle load exceeded the road limit by 174% compared to its safety and environmental protection certificate.
Traffic police fined the driver 53 million VND and the vehicle's owner, Do Thanh Transport Cooperative (Hanoi), 280 million VND. They also ordered the excess cargo to be unloaded.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Van Trung, Head of the Quang Tri Provincial Traffic Police Department, stated that after the merger, National Highway 1A passing through the province is longer, and traffic volume has increased. Traffic police are patrolling and strictly handling oversized and overloaded vehicles, especially on National Highway 1 and routes transporting materials from mines.
In addition to the administrative fines, the driver received a safety briefing and signed a commitment to comply with traffic regulations.
