Early on 21/7, residents traveling on the inter-communal road through Tri Can hamlet, Thieu Hoa commune, saw a 5-seater car with Thanh Hoa license plates in a deep pond and reported it to authorities.

The car was overturned, nearly one meter from the pond's edge, extensively damaged, and submerged almost to the roof with one victim inside.

Police secured the scene and used a crane to pull the vehicle ashore. When the car door was opened, the man was still in the driver's seat but had died. The 38-year-old victim resided in Dong Hoa hamlet, Thieu Quang commune.

The scene was a large, waterlogged pond, over one meter deep, located next to a farm spanning approximately 500 m2. The pond was adjacent to the inter-communal road and lacked protective barriers. The road section before the accident site was relatively flat but included a curve.

Initially, authorities speculated that the driver might have been unfamiliar with the road, losing control while navigating the curve, causing the car to plunge into the pond. The accident likely occurred several hours prior but went undetected.
