Around 7:50 a.m., a middle-aged woman driving a Toyota sedan on Tran Dai Nghia Street approached the Tran Dai Nghia - Dai La intersection. The car began to swerve before accelerating and hitting several motorcycles traveling in the same direction.
The impacted motorcycles piled up, and injured individuals were scattered along a 30-meter stretch of Tran Dai Nghia Street. The Toyota only came to a stop after colliding with a large tree in front of 241 Tran Dai Nghia.

At least 7 ambulances arrived at the scene to transport the injured to the hospital.
The car's airbags deployed, and its front end was severely damaged after hitting the tree.
The distraught driver was comforted by bystanders. Her husband reported that she had been suffering from insomnia for several days leading up to the accident.
