Around 9:20 h, a dump truck driven by Vuong Thanh Tuan (24, residing in Nam Giang commune, Da Nang city), carrying Nguyen Thanh Hung (29, residing in Kham Duc commune, Da Nang city) and an excavator, was traveling through the archway of Dac Oc village.

Due to the excavator's exceptional height, it collided with the archway's roof, pulling down its two concrete pillars. The entire tiled roof and concrete blocks collapsed onto the dump truck's cabin. The two victims were severely trapped and died instantly at the scene.

At the scene, the collapsed archway blocked the road, with broken tiles scattered across the concrete surface of the inter-village road. The dump truck's cabin was flattened and deformed, and the front of the vehicle was severely damaged.

As the victims were deeply trapped inside the cabin, authorities and residents had to dismantle the archway roof and break large concrete blocks to extricate the bodies.
