According to the Department of Construction, before the closure, the park area at the foot of the bridge will be modified to create an access route for cars to merge onto Binh Trieu 2 Bridge. Lanes will also be adjusted to accommodate two-way traffic on this bridge.
One 3.5 m lane will be dedicated to cars traveling from the city center to Binh Trieu intersection. The opposite direction will have two lanes: the right lane for two- and three-wheeled vehicles and small cars, and the lane next to the median strip for larger cars. Traffic cones will be installed near the bridge to separate motorcycle lanes.

The Department of Construction has requested support from Ho Chi Minh City Police and related parties to increase traffic management personnel to minimize congestion during construction.
Binh Trieu 1 and 2 Bridges span the Saigon River, situated on National Highway 13, connecting the eastern area to the city center. Binh Trieu 1 Bridge, built before 1975, currently handles one-way traffic from the city center towards Thu Duc City. Despite repairs in 2010, its low clearance remains inadequate for large vessels.
The Binh Trieu 1 Bridge clearance improvement project, with a budget of 133 billion VND, commenced in late 2024. Approximately 5 km away, the Binh Phuoc 1 Bridge on National Highway 1 is also undergoing clearance improvements with a budget of nearly 112 billion VND.
