The government plans to increase the base salary by 8% from its current 2,34 million dong per month to approximately 2,527 million dong per month, effective from 1/7.

This base salary underpins the remuneration for officials, public servants, civil servants, and armed forces personnel, calculated by the formula: base salary multiplied by a salary coefficient, excluding allowances. Applying this formula, a general, the highest-ranking military officer, could see their monthly salary rise from approximately 24,3 million dong to nearly 26,3 million dong. For lower ranks, a corporal's monthly salary is expected to increase from about 7,5 million dong to 8 million dong.

Professional military personnel and cryptotechnical specialists are also slated for pay adjustments. Their lowest monthly salary is projected at around 8 million dong, with the highest reaching approximately 19,5 million dong. This represents an increase of nearly 600.000 dong and 1,4 million dong, respectively, compared to current rates.

For national defense workers, projected monthly salaries range from a low of about 7,3 million dong to a high of approximately 16,8 million dong.
