Gia Lai set to gain four wind and solar power projects worth nearly 5,000 billion VND

Gia Lai province has approved investors to develop three solar power plant projects, Nhon Hoa 1, 1A, and 2, along with the Nhon Hoa 3 wind power plant, with a combined capital of nearly 5,000 billion VND.

On 16/4, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee issued decisions to a consortium comprising EMI Investment JSC, Nhon Hoa 1 Wind Power JSC, and Nhon Hoa 2 Energy JSC, for the construction of four wind and solar power projects.

The three solar power projects—Nhon Hoa 1, 1A, and 2—will span nearly 275 hectares in Ia Le commune. These projects will have a total installed capacity of 188 MW and represent an investment exceeding 3,200 billion VND.

The Nhon Hoa 3 wind power plant project, with an estimated capital of approximately 1,700 billion VND, will utilize over 27 hectares across Ia Le and Chu Puh communes, featuring a total installed capacity of 42 MW.

Groundbreaking for these projects is anticipated in November 2026, with completion and operation expected by August 2028.

The provincial authorities have tasked relevant departments and sectors with coordinating land procedures, planning, and power grid connections. They will also guide specialized procedures, supervise operations, and manage land allocation and leasing in accordance with regulations.

Investors are required to comply with all legal regulations concerning investment, construction, land, and environmental protection. They must ensure that equipment has clear origins and meets technical standards and electrical system safety requirements. Any transfer of the project can only be carried out with the approval of the competent authority.

This initiative follows previous approvals by the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee for numerous large-scale renewable energy projects. The largest among these is the Hon Trau Wind Power Plant - phase 1 in Phu My Dong commune, valued at over 48,300 billion VND.

Other wind power projects previously approved include Van Canh 1 (over 6,900 billion VND), Van Canh 2 (over 7,770 billion VND), Vinh Thuan (nearly 4,700 billion VND), and An Thanh Gia Lai (1,580 billion VND).
