Investment and Construction Project Management Board No. 1 announced the approval of contractor selection results for the Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway project. This nearly 66 km route will span over 11 km in Dong Nai and over 54 km in Lam Dong.
The expressway's starting point connects with the end of the Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway. Its terminal point is in Bao Loc City, Lam Dong province, linking to the 74 km Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressway, which commenced construction in late June.

Initially, the expressway will feature four lanes, a width of 17 meters, and a design speed of 80 km/h. Non-continuous emergency stopping lanes will be available along the route. For sections involving deep excavations, high embankments, interchanges, and certain bridges, the cross-section is designed to a full scale, with a 22 meter wide roadbed to meet technical specifications. The final phase will see the expressway widened to 22 meters and include two emergency stopping lanes.
With a total investment of 14,475 billion dong, the project will be implemented as a public-private partnership (PPP) under a build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract. Son Hai Group secured the bid, committing to a 25-month construction period and a 23-year, 9-month operational period for toll collection.
Once completed, this expressway, alongside the Bao Loc - Lien Khuong route, will reduce travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat from over 6 hours to 3 hours. This will alleviate congestion on National Highway 20, a crucial and currently overburdened artery. Furthermore, the expressway is expected to stimulate tourism, logistics, and industrial growth.
