On 7/8, Bac Ninh provincial traffic police documented and impounded a pickup truck using the fake license plate 98A-968.68. The vehicle owner resides in Luc Nam commune, Bac Ninh province.
The truck was recorded running a red light on the evening of 29/4 by Bac Ninh province's traffic camera system. The Bac Ninh Provincial Police Department of Traffic Police immediately issued a violation notice to the registered owner.
However, upon receiving the notice, the Luc Nam resident responded that the vehicle registered in their name was a Daewoo Matiz, not the pickup truck in the violation video.

Suspecting the pickup truck was using a fake license plate to evade penalties or for other illicit purposes, the Bac Ninh provincial traffic police launched an investigation.
Smart cameras tracked the truck's route and typical travel patterns. On the afternoon of 7/8, while the vehicle was traveling in the old Doi Ngo town, now part of Luc Nam commune, traffic police stopped it for inspection.
The female driver stated she had bought the used truck and was unaware of the license plate's origin. She couldn't produce valid documentation.
