Heavy rain and strong winds struck Ca Mau city early Tuesday morning. At approximately 7 a.m., a 10-meter tall diep tree, with a trunk measuring about one meter in diameter, fell across Tran Hung Dao street (opposite Minh Hai guesthouse). The tree landed on a married couple, both aged 41, who were riding separate motorcycles.
The couple was traveling from Huynh Thuc Khang bridge towards Tran Hung Dao street. Passersby immediately assisted the couple and alerted local authorities. Emergency services arrived shortly after to clear the scene and manage traffic.

According to the Tan Thanh ward People's Committee (UBND), the wife suffered a serious leg injury and is being treated at Ca Mau Provincial General Hospital. Her husband sustained minor injuries. Both motorcycles were severely damaged.
The Ca Mau Hydrometeorological Station has issued a warning for continued showers and thunderstorms in the area in the coming hours, with rainfall expected between 10 and 30 mm, and exceeding 30 mm in some locations. The forecast also includes potential for strong winds, lightning, and tornadoes during these storms.
