Around 12 p.m., a 16-seat vehicle driven by a male driver, carrying a family of 6, was traveling from Phu Nhuan intersection towards Hang Xanh roundabout. Upon reaching the Nguyen Cong Hoan intersection (near Phu Nhuan Cultural Park), the vehicle rear-ended a truck, pushing it into a motorbike ahead.
Immediately after the collision, the front of the 16-seat vehicle caught fire. The driver shouted, quickly opening the doors for the passengers to escape.
Mr. Nhu Y, one of the passengers, said his family had hired the vehicle from Tan Phu District to Dong Nai Province to visit relatives when the accident occurred. "The fire spread very quickly, but thankfully we managed to get the children out and retrieve our luggage," Mr. Y said.

Local residents used mini fire extinguishers to try and put out the flames, but the fire spread too quickly, leaving the vehicle completely burned out. The truck's rear end was dented, and a motorbike was trapped underneath it. One motorcyclist sustained minor injuries.
Police closed off the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
