Around 8 PM, a fire broke out at a scrap warehouse spanning about 1,000 m2 in Hamlet 5, Ba Diem commune (formerly Hoc Mon district). The fire quickly intensified upon encountering flammable materials, engulfing the entire warehouse.
The blaze produced loud explosions as it spread to an adjacent wood workshop, prompting nearby residents to evacuate. Some shouted warnings while moving belongings and motorbikes to safety.

A group attempted to tackle the fire with available resources, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
The Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police dispatched about 7 specialized vehicles and dozens of officers to the scene. Firefighters approached the blaze from multiple directions to prevent further spread. By 9 PM, the fire was largely under control.

At the scene, much of the scrap warehouse's contents were destroyed, and the tin roof collapsed. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
