At approximately 2:46 p.m., the 100-square-meter rooftop of the five-story building housing the Ngoc Tam Duong Pharmaceutical Company on Giai Phong Street, in the Tuong Mai ward, caught fire. The fire quickly spread across the entire rooftop, with smoke pouring out and spilling onto Giai Phong Street, bringing traffic to a standstill.
The Hanoi Police Department's Fire Prevention and Fighting, and Rescue and Rescue Police dispatched firefighters, ladder trucks, and fire engines to the scene. Teams guided people out of the building while others worked to extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading.
Due to the open area around the fire, which allowed easy access for ladder trucks, the fire was extinguished in about 30 minutes. There were no casualties, but the rooftop, the top two floors, and the facade of the building sustained damage.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
