At past 9 a.m., the fire originated from a row of rooms located on Do Muoi Street, approximately 100 meters from the Tan Thoi Hiep overpass.
Neighboring residents attempted to extinguish the fire with mini fire extinguishers, but their efforts were unsuccessful. They then assisted the tenants in evacuating their belongings. Minutes later, the fire intensified and engulfed the entire row of rooms.

Two fire trucks and nearly 20 firefighters arrived at the scene. They quickly extinguished the fire within 10 minutes. Ms. Lan, a tenant, reported seeing thick black smoke emanating from a locked room while she was inside her own room.
"The smoke and flames engulfed the entire row of rooms, making it difficult to breathe. Fortunately, I and several others managed to escape," Ms. Lan said.

The fire destroyed property in several unoccupied rooms, leaving the structure damaged and its metal frame exposed. Mr. Nguyen Huu Hiep, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Thoi Hiep ward, stated that the fire caused no casualties but destroyed five rooms, totaling 50 square meters.
Late on 6/7, another fire occurred at the Doc Lap residential area in Phu Tho Hoa ward, resulting in eight fatalities.
