Former Bac Giang secretary Bui Van Hai stripped of all party positions

The Central Committee has stripped Bui Van Hai, former secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee, of all his party positions due to violations that caused very serious consequences.

According to a communique issued on the afternoon of 20/7, the first working day of the third plenum of the 14th Central Committee, the Central Committee reviewed personnel matters and disciplined violating party members.

The Central Committee voted with high consensus to strip Bui Van Hai of all his party positions. Hai is a former member of the 12th Central Committee, former secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, secretary of the Party Committee, and chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Council, and is now affiliated with Bac Ninh province.

Previously, on 20/5, the Central Inspection Committee concluded that Hai violated party regulations and state laws in performing his assigned responsibilities and duties, as well as in the prevention and fight against corruption, waste, and negativity.

He also violated regulations concerning what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example. These violations caused very serious consequences, negatively affecting the reputation of party organizations, the locality, and the agencies he worked for, requiring disciplinary action.

Hai is 66 years old and originally from Bac Ninh. He holds a master's degree in Party Building and a bachelor's degree in Educational Psychology. He was a member of the 12th Central Committee, serving as secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee from 2015-2020.
