Former Hung Yen vice chairman expelled from communist party

Nguyen Bat Khach, former standing vice chairman of the Hung Yen People's Committee, and Le Ngoc Soi, former director of the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, have been expelled from the communist party for serious violations in state asset management.

Following a meeting on 11/7, after reviewing a proposal from the Central Inspection Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat concluded that Nguyen Bat Khach and Le Ngoc Soi had degraded in their political ideology, morality, and lifestyle. They violated party regulations and state laws in performing their assigned duties and responsibilities.

The two were found to have violated regulations regarding the prevention and combat of corruption, wastefulness, and negativity. They also violated regulations concerning what party members are not allowed to do and their responsibility to set an example. These violations "caused very serious consequences, public outrage, and negatively impacted the prestige of the party organization and the working agency." Therefore, the Secretariat decided to expel both Khach and Soi from the communist party.

Previously, in 3/2025, both men were prosecuted for investigation into the charge of "violating regulations on the management and use of state assets, causing loss and waste." This relates to a case occurring at Thang Long Real Estate Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company in Lieu Xa commune, Yen My district, Hung Yen.

At the same meeting, the Politburo and the Secretariat also concluded that Vo Chi Cong, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and head of the Can Tho City Party Committee's Commission for Propaganda and Education, had committed violations while serving as head of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee. He violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and their responsibility to set an example. These violations "caused serious consequences, negative public opinion, and reduced the prestige of the party organization and the working agency/unit."

The Politburo decided to reprimand Vo Chi Cong and requested relevant agencies to consider administrative disciplinary actions in line with the party's discipline.
