At several significant landslide locations, only one lane was accessible, prompting recommendations for heavy trucks, container trucks, and large passenger buses to limit their transit.
The complete removal of residual earth and rock is anticipated to require at least one week. During this period, Son Dien Commune will collaborate with the managing authority to manage traffic flow and ensure vehicle safety.
Gia Bac Pass experienced multiple landslides throughout November. Heavy rainfall from the afternoon of 3/12 to the morning of 4/12 triggered 20 new landslide sites, with an estimated 21,000 cubic meters of earth and rock spilling onto the road, rendering the pass impassable. Twenty trapped vehicles were subsequently rescued.
