The provincial people's committee acknowledged that aid amounts were determined by regulations, based on actual damage. However, the local organization of payments, public information, and policy explanation were unsuitable. This led many residents to endure long waits for aid amounts of only a few nghin dong, undermining the policy's humanitarian intent and sparking public frustration.

The chairman of Gia Lai provincial people's committee criticized Binh Dinh ward people's committee for its disaster aid distribution. He demanded an urgent review and a report on the incident's resolution. The ward must seriously learn from this experience, rectify its implementation methods, improve its service attitude, and prevent residents from traveling repeatedly or waiting long for small aid amounts.
The province also requested a comprehensive review of all records, lists, and aid amounts to ensure correct, public, and transparent payments. It emphasized proactively choosing convenient payment methods for low-aid cases, particularly for the elderly, the sick, and disadvantaged households.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment was tasked with guiding localities to implement payments and settlements according to regulations, avoiding rigid, bureaucratic procedures that cause inconvenience and public frustration.

The action by Gia Lai provincial people's committee came after Binh Dinh ward organized the distribution of crop aid to residents affected by storm Kalmaegi in November 2025. The total aid amounted to over 300 trieu dong, benefiting more than 400 households in 10 residential groups.
However, approximately 22 households cultivating mai (apricot blossom trees) received low amounts, ranging from 1,300 dong to over 6,500 dong. Despite the small sums, residents endured waits and traveled many kilometers, expending significant time and effort.
Vo Tien Si, vice chairman of the ward people's committee, stated the ward had just received the criticism from the provincial people's committee and was preparing a detailed explanatory report for provincial leaders. Si admitted that during implementation, payment officers were rigid and lacked flexibility, causing public dissatisfaction.
