Dong Nai implements software to monitor transport project progress

Key infrastructure and transport projects in Dong Nai will be tracked on a real-time data system, helping leaders identify issues early and expedite progress.

On the afternoon of 28/5, the Dong Nai Department of Construction received and put into operation a project monitoring system at the provincial Smart Monitoring and Operating Center (IOC).

According to the operating unit, the platform is designed for centralized management, real-time data updates, and role-based access for various user groups. These include provincial People's Committee leaders, investors, project management boards, the Department of Construction, and system administrators.

The software enables tracking of individual project progress based on implementation milestones, land clearance volume, construction output, and disbursement status. Data is visualized through 7 in-depth analytical charts to support management and operational tasks.

Nao Thien Anh Minh, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Construction, stated that the locality is currently undertaking many large-scale infrastructure projects. These include regional transport links and key initiatives crucial for socio-economic development. Given the increasing workload, implementing software to monitor progress, control bottlenecks, and expedite project rollout is essential.

According to Minh, the system will assist provincial leaders, the Department of Construction, and other departments in closely monitoring the progress of projects across the province. This is particularly important for strategic transport infrastructure such as expressways, provincial roads, and bridges connecting with Ho Chi Minh City.

"Through the system, difficulties and obstacles during implementation will be detected early for timely resolution, ensuring projects are completed on schedule", Minh said.

Recently, many key transport projects in Dong Nai have faced persistent schedule pressure. This is primarily due to challenges with land clearance and a shortage of leveling materials. For example, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway was previously assessed by the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) as having "very slow progress" because of the gradual handover of cleared land.

Dong Nai is also implementing numerous projects connecting to Long Thanh airport. These include upgrading DT 769 road and constructing DT 770B and DT 773, with a combined capital of tens of trillions of dong.
