On 17/7, Nguyen Thi Cam Huyen, Vice Chairwoman of the Vinh Hung Commune People's Committee (UBND), announced the artifact was found in late June at grave 552, row 17, sector B2, Vinh Hung - Tan Hung Martyrs' Cemetery.
The piece of paper, preserved in a glass jar, was torn due to age. The legible information identified fallen soldier Tran Duc Vuong, originally from Tan Hong village, Tan Lac commune, Luc Ngan district, Ha Bac province (now part of Bac Ninh province), who died on 14/3/1975.

Colonel Tran Chi Cong, Team Leader of K73, Tay Ninh Provincial Military Command, stated that during the repatriation process, the unit has often found penicillin jars buried with the remains of fallen soldiers to preserve personal information. However, due to prolonged exposure to humid conditions, most of the papers inside were damaged.
"This case is very valuable because the information is still preserved, which can help identify the fallen soldier and connect with their relatives," Colonel Cong said.
Tay Ninh subsequently forwarded the information to Bac Ninh province for cross-referencing.
Chu Thi Hoa, Head of the Organization - Policy Board, Bac Ninh Provincial Fallen Soldiers' Families Support Association, confirmed that the data on the paper matched the records for fallen soldier Tran Duc Vuong held by the Association.
According to the records, Tran Duc Vuong's father was Tran Duc De, from Tan Lap commune (now Deo Gia commune, Bac Ninh province). In December 1971, he enlisted in the military as a corporal, a driver for Battalion 12, Regiment 4, and died during a mission on 14/3/1975.
Documents from the Bac Ninh Provincial Fallen Soldiers' Families Support Association also indicate that on the same day as Vuong's death, fallen soldier Nguyen Duc Xay, born in 1954, from Luc Ngan, Ha Bac (now part of Bac Ninh), also a driver, died.
After receiving information from Bac Ninh, the Vinh Hung Commune People's Committee re-examined cemetery records and found fallen soldier Nguyen Duc Xay, from Luc Ngan, Ha Bac, listed at grave 549.
All relevant information has been forwarded to the authorities in both localities for further verification.
The search and repatriation of fallen soldiers' remains in Tay Ninh is part of the 500-day-and-night campaign, which runs from 15/3/2026 to 27/7/2027. As of 15/7, the province had collected samples from 12,169 graves, accounting for over 65% of the province's 18,591 graves, with 9,726 graves meeting the necessary conditions for sampling.
