Le Loi street, spanning 1,4 km, connects two of the most important traffic junctions in the inner city: Trai Linh intersection (where Cau Dat, Lach Tray, and To Hieu streets meet) and May To six-way intersection (the convergence of Le Hong Phong, Le Lai, Da Nang, Pham Ngu Lao, and Vo Thi Sau streets).

Since 2019, the section from the intersection with Pham Minh Duc street towards Trai Linh intersection has been a one-way street due to its narrow width and susceptibility to congestion. In 8/2025, the Hai Phong city People's Committee (UBND TP Hai Phong) decided to invest over 300 billion VND to upgrade and repair this route.
The project involved widening the road surface by an average of two meters on each side, ensuring a minimum road width of 12 m and a minimum sidewalk width of three meters on each side. Additionally, the electrical and street lighting systems along the route have been placed underground.
The Hai Phong city Department of Construction (So Xay dung TP Hai Phong) assesses that organizing two-way traffic on Le Loi street will alleviate pressure on Luong Khanh Thien and Lach Tray streets, making daily life and travel more convenient for residents.
Furthermore, the Hai Phong city People's Committee has directed relevant units to study opening the Van Cao - Le Quang Dao - Tran Binh Trong route to reduce congestion on Lach Tray and Tran Nguyen Han streets.
