Hanoi prepares for two-tiered local government

Ward offices are dismantling old signs, installing new ones, and moving documents and equipment to new locations to officially operate the two-tiered government model from 1/7.

In Cau Giay District, the former headquarters of the District Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee at 96 Tran Thai Tong (former Dich Vong Hau Ward) will become the headquarters of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Cau Giay Ward.

In Tay Ho District, the former District Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee headquarters is now the headquarters of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Tay Ho Ward (657 Lac Long Quan Street). The new ward covers 10.56 km2 with a population of nearly 94,000, encompassing all of Buoi Ward, most of Thuy Khue, Xuan La, Quang An wards, and parts of Phu Thuong, Nhat Tan, Tu Lien, Yen Phu (Tay Ho), and Nghia Do (Cau Giay) wards.

In recent days, workers at commune and ward offices in Hanoi have been busy dismantling old signs and installing new ones in preparation for the launch of the two-tiered government model.

At 30 Le Dai Hanh Street, the former headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Le Dai Hanh Ward, a new sign has been installed, replacing the old one.

The People's Council and People's Committee of Giang Vo Ward are using the current headquarters of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Ngoc Khanh Ward. Supplies and documents have been transferred. Taking advantage of the last weekend, staff arranged the public reception area to be ready for operation.

Outside, workers are decorating, renovating, and changing the signs at the new headquarters.

Hai Ba Trung Ward was established by merging the entire area and population of Dong Nhan and Pho Hue wards; most of Nguyen Du, Pham Dinh Ho, and Le Dai Hanh wards; and parts of Bach Dang and Thanh Nhan wards (Hai Ba Trung District).

Officials, public employees, and workers completed the packing and handover. Computers and furniture were installed and put in place.

In Thanh Xuan District, the new ward of the same name has completed trial operations of the two-tiered government model and is ready for the announcement ceremony of the National Assembly Standing Committee's Resolution and the city's decisions this morning.

Tasks such as handing over records, renovating the headquarters, installing signs, arranging personnel, and completing facilities have been finished.

Workers put the finishing touches on the signboard of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Da Ward at 59 Hoang Cau Street.

On 23/6, the new Dong Da Ward People's Committee held a trial run of a ward People's Committee meeting to implement the direction and leadership of state administration in the area.

The People's Committee of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward, located at 188 Kim Hoa Street, Phuong Lien Ward (Dong Da District), is completing the final stages of renovation.

Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward covers 1.92 km2 with a population of over 105,000. It was established by merging several wards in Dong Da, Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, and Hai Ba Trung districts.

The signboard of the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Tu Liem Ward has been replaced with a predominantly yellow tone.

Tu Liem Ward (formerly South Tu Liem) was formed by merging Cau Dien Ward, most of My Dinh 1, My Dinh 2, Phu Do, Me Tri (South Tu Liem) wards, and part of Mai Dich Ward (Cau Giay).

On the morning of 29/6, at 126 Hang Trong Street, officials and staff of Hoan Kiem District rushed to move the remaining documents and equipment to the new facility in Cua Nam Ward. This location will house the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem Ward.

Hoan Kiem District is expected to have two wards: Hoan Kiem and Cua Nam. Hoan Kiem Ward covers 1.93 km2 with a population of over 71,000.

The new sign at 29 Quang Trung Street (formerly the People's Committee of Tran Hung Dao Ward) has been covered with cloth, ready for the unveiling.

According to the plan, at 8 a.m. on 1/7, 126 new communes and wards in Hanoi will officially begin operations.
