On 6/7, the Hai Ba Trung Ward Investment and Infrastructure Project Management Board announced the project's implementation, aiming to realize the urban design plan for the area surrounding Thien Quang lake.
The project's highlight is the construction of the Tran Nhan Tong pedestrian square. This square will feature a central fountain, a stone-paved event area, a lighting system, and decorative elements to support cultural and community activities.

The project also includes an underground water tank for the fountain. It will install public drinking water stations and infrastructure to support stalls during fairs and events held on the pedestrian street.
All sidewalks on Tran Nhan Tong street will have their block bricks replaced with granite. Curbs, tree planters, and concrete drainage grates will also be replaced with granite to create a uniform landscape.

Two sections of the fence on either side of Thong Nhat park's gate will be removed. This removal will be combined with paving, additional tree planting, and lighting installation, creating an open space that connects the square with the park.
Shade trees and ornamental plants impacting the square's layout will be relocated to suitable positions. The project also adds camera systems, LED screens, and other technical infrastructure components.
Construction began in early July and is expected to be completed before 31/12/2026.

Thong Nhat park spans over 50 ha, situated between 4 streets: Tran Nhan Tong, Le Duan, Dai Co Viet, and Nguyen Dinh Chieu. Following the removal of fences to create open spaces, the project to renovate Tran Nhan Tong street's sidewalks and the park gate area represents the final component in completing the landscape surrounding Thong Nhat park.
