Hanoi to host fireworks display on the evening of 28/4

The fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 20:10 and conclude with the "Echo of the Fatherland" political art program, taking place on the evening of 28/4 at My Dinh National Stadium.

The display will feature a combination of high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks, along with pyrotechnic effects. Specifically, there will be 900 high-altitude fireworks, 60 low-altitude racks, and 60 pyrotechnic flower-fountain racks.

The fireworks launch points are located at My Dinh National Stadium and the F1 racetrack area. Pyrotechnic fireworks will be placed on the roof of Grandstand B, while high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks will be set up in the F1 racetrack area.

The fireworks event celebrates the success of the 16th National Assembly election and the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. It also commemorates several important anniversaries: 51 years of Southern Liberation and National Reunification (30/4/1975 - 30/4/2026), 140 years of International Labor Day (1/5/1886 - 1/5/2026), 72 years of Dien Bien Phu Victory (7/5/1954 - 7/5/2026), 136 years since the birth of President Ho Chi Minh (19/5/1890 - 19/5/2026), and 67 years since the opening of the Ho Chi Minh Trail and the Traditional Day of Truong Son Soldiers (19/5/1959 - 19/5/2026).

The city has assigned the Hanoi Capital Command to lead, transport, and organize the fireworks display.

In 2026, Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month) falls on sunday, 26/4. Workers will receive a compensatory day off on monday, 27/4, creating a three-day holiday (25-27/4). Following this, the 30/4 - 1/5 holiday will extend for four days (from 30/4 until the end of 3/5).

During the seven-day holiday period, Hanoi city offers free rides on 128 subsidized bus routes and two urban railway lines.
