The Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Works Construction Investment Project Management Board (TCIP) reported this information at a field inspection chaired by Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong on 7/7. The connecting section is part of construction package number 1 (XL1) - the interchange between Ring Road 3 and the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.
Although both are part of Ring Road 3, the Nhon Trach Bridge and XL1 package are implemented by different units, with construction starting over a year apart. The Nhon Trach Bridge, under the management of My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction), began construction in 9/2022 and is expected to open to traffic on 19/8. The XL1 package, implemented by Ho Chi Minh City, began construction at the end of 1/2024, leading to an asynchronous progress.

To ensure connectivity, Ho Chi Minh City will first complete about 400 m of the main route and some ramps onto the expressway. At the same time, a temporary road of about 200 m will be opened for vehicles from the Nhon Trach Bridge to turn right into the toll station area, loop onto the Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, and vice versa.
After this temporary traffic arrangement, the remaining components of the interchange will be completed from the end of September to December this year. The XL1 package, with a construction timeline until 6/2026, is currently more than 54% complete - the fastest among the six bidding packages in phase two, passing through Ho Chi Minh City.

At the inspection, Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong praised the construction efforts amid challenging weather and material conditions. He urged contractors to accelerate construction, ensuring the target of opening nearly 15 km of Ring Road 3 through Thu Duc City by the end of this year.
Ring Road 3 stretches over 90 km, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Tay Ninh provinces, with a total investment of nearly 75,400 billion VND. The 15.3 km My Phuoc - Tan Van section in the former Binh Duong province has already been completed. The entire project is expected to be completed in 2026, creating a key inter-regional economic and transport axis in the southern region.
