On 14/4, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction tasked the Center for Traffic and Technical Infrastructure Management with reviewing and proposing solutions for artistic, decorative, and interactive motion lighting across several city landmarks.
This initiative stems from a directive by Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Tran Luu Quang, who called for exploring artistic lighting solutions in the city center to establish vibrant nighttime landscape highlights.

The review specifically targets public spaces, including 30/4 Park, Tao Dan Park, and recently completed canal and river embankments. Furthermore, lighting plans are under consideration for the exteriors of numerous historical and cultural heritage sites, such as Notre Dame Cathedral, Giac Lam Pagoda, Ben Thanh Market, Binh Tay Market, and Lang Ong Ba. Major gateways and large bridges are also included in this assessment.
This initiative represents Ho Chi Minh City's first large-scale study into implementing artistic lighting across its public spaces and iconic structures.
Beyond these proposed areas, the Department of Construction also mandated a review of existing artistic lighting systems in central city structures. Where necessary, proposals for repairs, replacements, or enhancements will be made to boost their effectiveness.
Additionally, some structures are being considered for 3D mapping technology on their exteriors. These projections would link to historical events at each site, aiming to fulfill the cultural and educational needs of the public.

Previously, in 11/2025, Ho Chi Minh City completed artistic lighting projects at several landmarks: Mong Bridge, the Children's House, the City Museum, Thu Ngu Flagpole, and Ben Thanh Market. Each site features a unique lighting script, allowing for dynamic color changes based on space and time. These installations improve the nighttime landscape and promote the city's image. The project involved a total investment of nearly 50 billion VND from the city budget.
Additionally, in late 2024, phase one of the artistic lighting system was implemented on Ba Son Bridge, which connects the Thu Thiem Urban Area with the former District 1. Lights installed on the stay cables, tower pillars, and both sides of the span structure emphasize the bridge's distinctive architecture.
