Around 12 p.m., a fire erupted in apartment 604 on the 6th floor of the Tan Hong Ha building, located at 2 Vuong Thua Vu in Khuong Dinh ward. The apartment, rented as an office, quickly became engulfed in flames due to the presence of numerous paper documents. Smoke and fire billowed from its windows.
Upon hearing the fire alarm, residents from higher floors began evacuating to the lobby using the stairwell. "Smoke poured into the hallway; I only had time to grab my young grandchild and run down the stairs," recounted Ms. Huong, a seventh-floor resident.

Approximately 15 minutes after the blaze started, Firefighting Team Area 13 arrived. They deployed a ladder truck, broke glass doors, and directed water inside to suppress the flames. A team equipped with oxygen tanks entered the burning apartment. Three residents from an adjacent unit were safely evacuated.
The fire was fully extinguished by approximately 12:45 p.m. While there were no casualties, many belongings within the apartment were destroyed. Out of concern, numerous residents remained gathered in the lobby even after the fire was under control.
The affected apartment building stands 24 stories tall, including a basement. Its main facade faces Vuong Thua Vu street, with one side bordering Truong Chinh street. The first five floors are designated for commercial rentals and supermarkets.
