At the time of the fire, the 47-year-old homeowners, a couple, were inside. The wife, who was in the living room, managed to escape and called out to neighbors for help extinguishing the fire. Her husband, however, became trapped on the first floor. The blaze quickly intensified, making initial attempts to put it out unsuccessful.
Multiple fire trucks and over 20 firefighters promptly responded to the scene. Firefighters used hoses to battle the flames, prevent their spread, and brought the fire under control within approximately 20 minutes. Upon entering the house, they discovered the man deceased on the first floor.
Vo Thanh Binh, Chairman of Hiep Binh Ward People's Committee, stated that the family living there consisted of a couple and two children. During the blaze, two people were inside the house, with one successfully escaping. The fire destroyed many belongings and furniture inside the home.
