Hue City reallocates government agency headquarters

Hue City authorities plan to reallocate several agency headquarters to utilize surplus buildings and establish appropriate workspaces.

On 13/5, the Hue City People's Committee announced that the seven-story building, spanning nearly 20,000 square meters at 24 To Huu, Vy Da ward, formerly the headquarters of the Thuan Hoa District People's Committee, will be transferred to the Office of the Hue City People's Committee for management and use. The handover and receipt of public assets will be completed within 30 days.

The headquarters at 24 To Huu will become the new workplace for the Hue City People's Committee, the National Assembly Delegation and the City People's Council, and the Hue City Public Administration Service Center. Concurrently, the current Hue City People's Committee headquarters at 16 Le Loi, Thuan Hoa ward, will be transferred to house the Hue City Party Committee.

Previously, the building at 24 To Huu, which served first as the old Hue City People's Committee headquarters and later as the Thuan Hoa District headquarters, was handed over to the Hue City History Museum. The Hue City History Museum had planned to relocate artifacts to the new location for preservation and display but has not yet done so. Consequently, the Thuan Hoa District headquarters has remained abandoned since 1/7/2025.

In recent times, numerous public headquarters in Hue City have been left vacant, including those of the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Health, and the Hue City Literature and Arts Association, following their relocation to new facilities. According to urban planning, these former headquarters are slated for auction and investment calls for hotels and commercial zones, aiming to boost tourism development.
