On 28/8, Le Trong Yen, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, signed a decision to close a section of the Nam Suoi Nhum titanium-zircon mine in Tan Thanh commune. This action provides a clear site for the continued construction of the DT 719B road, a crucial infrastructure project.

The DT 719B project, which spans over 25 km and is 28 m wide, aims to connect Phan Thiet with Ke Ga. It commenced in 11/2020 with an investment of approximately 1,000 billion dong and was initially slated for completion in 2023. However, construction has been delayed for over three years as the titanium mine area obstructed the site, preventing contractors from proceeding with the work.
The recent decision involves closing an area of over 12,5 hectares to hand over to the road project. This move is expected to facilitate the ongoing construction of the coastal route, which is anticipated to significantly boost socio-economic development in the southern region of Binh Thuan province.
The Provincial People's Committee has assigned Tan Thanh commune the responsibility to receive and manage the closed mine area. This includes protecting any unexploited minerals and promptly transferring the land to Investment and Construction Project Management Board No. 2 for the continued construction of DT 719B.
