Large fire engulfs furniture company in Ho Chi Minh City

Flames erupted at a wood and sofa production workshop, quickly consuming an area over 500 square meters, with smoke columns rising hundreds of meters.

Around 10 PM on August 14, a fire unexpectedly broke out at a corner of a furniture manufacturing company's workshop on Doan Thi Kia Street, Di An Ward. Residents attempted to extinguish the flames using water and on-site equipment but were unsuccessful.

Due to the presence of large quantities of wood, mattresses, and other flammable materials inside, the blaze rapidly intensified, creating a smoke column hundreds of meters high that was visible from several kilometers away. Mr. Luan, a resident living near the scene, reported that the fire was accompanied by loud explosions, causing panic among residents who had to move their belongings outside.

Upon receiving the report, fire department forces dispatched multiple specialized vehicles and dozens of officers to the scene. By 11:30 PM, the fire was largely contained, eliminating the risk of it spreading to residential areas.
