Major fire at foam company in Dong Nai

A fire erupted at a foam factory in Phuoc Tan ward, quickly spreading across a 1,000 m2 workshop, sending a column of black smoke hundreds of meters high on the afternoon of 22/5.

At approximately 1 p.m., a blaze broke out at the MTX XS - TM B&T Company Limited's foam manufacturing plant in Phuoc Tan ward, formerly Bien Hoa City. Workers attempted to extinguish the fire with water and small extinguishers, but their efforts failed.

Minutes later, a thick column of black smoke billowed hundreds of meters skyward, visible to residents kilometers away. A strong burning odor permeated the area around the workshop, prompting workers to alert others, move goods, and evacuate.

"The fire erupted fiercely, accompanied by several loud explosions," said Tai, who lives near the scene.

The fire rapidly engulfed the 1,000 m2 workshop due to the abundance of flammable foam materials inside. Heat warped sections of the corrugated iron roof, and intense smoke and flames continuously erupted.

Dong Nai Police dispatched many fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to battle the blaze. Firefighters deployed hoses, spraying water from multiple directions to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent workshops.

By approximately 2:30 p.m., the fire was largely under control. The blaze caused no casualties, but the workshop and numerous raw materials inside were destroyed.

B&T Company, established in 2012 and headquartered in Tran Bien ward, specializes in manufacturing shaped EPS foam, various foam boxes, PE FOAM film, and refrigeration gene pipes.
