The fire originated from stalls trading in fabric, rubber, and plastics, quickly spreading throughout the market. The column of thick black smoke was clearly visible from a kilometer away, enveloping a large area.

The market was crowded in the early morning hours when the fire began. Traders and residents reacted quickly, moving their vehicles and belongings away from the dangerous area amidst the panic.

Upon receiving the report at 8:09 am, the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC&CNCH) of Quang Ninh Provincial Police mobilized at least three fire trucks and dozens of other vehicles. They coordinated with ward police and the electricity company to implement plans for extinguishing the fire and preventing its further spread. Reinforcements from the PCCC&CNCH of Hai Phong City Police were also called to assist.

Currently, authorities have cordoned off the scene to conduct a thorough investigation into the fire's origin and to compile a comprehensive report on the damages incurred.
