The Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee announced an administrative penalty on 17/9 against Bin Bin Bakery. The establishment, located in An Khe ward and owned by Nguyen Van Khanh, was cited for failing to maintain proper conditions for food storage areas and equipment. It also used unsanitary materials, leading to food poisoning that affected 5 or more people.

On 23-24/8, numerous individuals sought medical attention after experiencing stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. Their symptoms followed consuming mixed banh mi from Bin Bin Bakery.

By 17:00 on 28/8, health authorities had recorded 254 individuals diagnosed with food poisoning linked to the bakery. All patients subsequently stabilized and were discharged; no fatalities occurred.

Laboratory results, released by the Gia Lai Department of Health on 7/9, confirmed Salmonella contamination in three food samples served with the banh mi: pate, dried chicken, and fried fish cake.

Salmonella is a bacterium that commonly causes food poisoning, presenting with acute symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever, and vomiting.
