On the evening of 17/9, Mr. Doan Van Phuong, Chairman of Quang Son commune People's Committee, stated that local authorities urgently evacuated 65 households from the danger zone to temporary shelters built with bamboo and tarpaulin roofs. Local forces assisted residents in moving people and assets to safety.

According to commune leaders, after prolonged heavy rains since early September, the hill in Dak Snao hamlet developed cracks and subsidence. Today, the area recorded an average subsidence depth of 20 cm, with cracks extending across the hillside and residential area, totaling about 300 meters in length.

The cracks are 6-17 cm wide and continue to expand. The subsidence area, at high risk of landslides, spans about 4 hectares.

No casualties have been reported; however, the subsidence directly impacted residents' homes and production land. Three houses show cracks between the floor and walls, with some walls having shifted, affecting the structural integrity of the buildings.

Given the ongoing risk of landslides, commune authorities cordoned off the danger zone, erected fences around the cracked area, and placed warning signs. Officials and militia members are stationed 24 hours a day to monitor developments.

Due to the extensive subsidence area, prolonged cracks, and complex terrain, the commune lacks the technical capability to address the situation. The locality requested the province dispatch geological experts to survey and assess the ground stability, provide materials, emergency funding, and consider long-term resettlement plans for the displaced households.
