Massive fire engulfs foam factory in Dong Nai

A large fire erupted at a foam factory spanning approximately 1,000 square meters in An Phuoc commune (formerly Long Thanh district), sending plumes of smoke hundreds of meters high, on the afternoon of 2/8.

Around 10 a.m., a fire broke out in a corner of the factory. Upon discovering the fire, workers raised the alarm, attempted to extinguish the flames, and moved assets to safety. However, due to the highly flammable nature of materials like foam, the fire rapidly spread, engulfing the entire production area.

"I was working when I heard several loud explosions. I ran outside and saw a thick column of black smoke billowing up," Phuong, a local resident, recounted.

Dong Nai Province's Fire and Rescue Police deployed multiple fire trucks and dozens of firefighters to combat the blaze. Due to the presence of flammable materials, specialized chemicals were used to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to the nearby residential area.

Police closed off several roads leading to the area to facilitate firefighting efforts and ensure safety. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
