Military, police organize forces to protect the 14th National Congress

Ahead of the 14th National Party Congress, police, military, and local authorities are implementing multi-layered security plans, tightening security to ensure absolute safety.

Police are implementing public order and security measures. Security guards and specialized units are organizing strict controls in the Congress area, accommodation, travel routes, and related activities of delegates.

In the next layer of protection, mobile police, special forces, and counter-terrorism units are deployed according to operational plans. They are ready to handle complex situations, prevent disruption and sabotage, and ensure social order and safety before, during, and after the Congress.

The military will protect key objectives, maintain combat readiness, and deploy engineer forces to clear bombs, mines, and explosives, ensuring the safety of critical areas. Units are also increasing patrols and guard duties, tightening the management of weapons, equipment, and explosives, and securing warehouses, barracks, airports, and ports.

In Hanoi, air defense forces maintain 24/24 personnel on duty, deploying field positions ready to handle low-flying targets and the risk of infiltration by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This contributes to protecting the airspace and key areas during the Congress.

First Lieutenant Nguyen Quoc Dat, Deputy Battalion Commander of Battalion 172, Regiment 64, Division 361 (Air Defense - Air Force Service), stated that the unit organizes duty forces in shifts, rotating continuously, and checking equipment and communications daily to maintain combat readiness. "We have developed plans to handle low-flying targets, especially UAVs, according to simulated scenarios that may occur", he said.

Major Nguyen Van Linh, Deputy Regiment Commander of Missile Regiment 236, Air Defense Division 361, stated that the unit has intensified training and coordinated combat crew drills according to approved operational plans. Duty crews are required to react quickly to signs of unexpected infiltration, ensuring tight control of the airspace in their assigned area.

Along with protecting physical targets and spaces, cybersecurity and information security are also at a high level of vigilance. Specialized forces are coordinating technical measures to prevent, detect, and handle cyberattack risks, sabotage, distortion, and information disruption. They also ensure technical conditions, safety, and security for activities serving the Congress.
