Mother and son die after truck collision

A 56-year-old man driving an electric motorbike, carrying his 86-year-old mother, both residents of Truong Luu commune, died after colliding with a dirt-laden truck on district road 36 on the afternoon of 12/5.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 PM. The son was driving an electric motorbike with his mother on district road 36. Near the welcome gate of Phuc Truong village, Truong Luu commune (formerly part of Can Loc district), their vehicle collided with a truck carrying soil, which had a Nghe An license plate and was traveling in the opposite direction.

Following the collision, the truck swerved sharply towards the roadside, narrowly avoiding a grocery store. Both victims died at the scene.

At the scene, the electric motorbike was found severely deformed and thrown to the roadside. The truck sustained minor damage to its front end. Debris from the crash was scattered across the area.

The Ha Tinh Traffic Police Department deployed officers to direct traffic and clear the accident scene. The road was cleared after approximately 3 hours.

The section of district road 36 where the accident occurred is 5-7 meters wide, with many residential houses lining both sides. Some parts of the road were narrowed as residents were drying rice along the verges.
